Attention Teachers

Teaching Help Needed
Two Wednesday evening Pre-School classes need help teaching, please.

1. The combination 3yr/4yr old class needs an assistant teacher to enter the teacher rotation.

2. The kindergarten class needs one more teacher and an assistant teacher to enter the teacher rotation.

Reminder
We are in the time of year where inclement weather can come and go quickly. If you want to know if our services have been cancelled due to weather, please call the building phone (636.8446 or 636.2923) and follow the promotes to the information line (Press 5). If there is no information up-date due to weather, services will be as normally scheduled.

Food for FairHaven
The truck from Fair Haven Home for Children will be here in March. A letter listing needed food will be sent out around the first week of February.
However, in order to get an early start on meeting some of their on-going needs, we have asked them to let us know of items needed in large amounts. Those items are: trash bags, laundry soap, paper towels and toilet paper. They can also use large amounts of pickles, canned chicken, and tuna.

Items for the thrift store are appreciated. As always, items should be in clean and wearable condition and any appliances should work. They CANNOT accept car seats, baby beds, mattresses and non-working TV’s.

Baby Shower - Feb. 4
There will be a baby shower for Jennifer Hernandez Saturday morning, February 4^th, at 10:00 AM, here at the building. She is expecting a boy, and they are registered at Target. Please see Julie Terry or Sarah Shores with any questions.

Annual Ladies Day 2012
The Planning Committee for the Annual Fairgrounds Road Ladies’ Day is seeking suggestions from the ladies in the congregation for a scriptural theme for the 2012 meeting next fall. If you have a theme idea or scripture, please share with Susan Wilson or Rita Kempker before January 1^st.

Congregational Retreat 2012
We are planning another congregational retreat to Colorado for Sunday, July 22 – Friday, July 27, 2012.

NOTE: We have two rooms left if anyone is interested. If not, we will turn the rooms back. If you did not sign up and want to go, please let Brent or Carey know and give $150 for your deposit. Thank you.

A Moment of Truth
Radio Program
We began a new radio outreach program on November 3, 2008 called “A Moment of Truth”. This broadcast is on KWOS, 950 AM station. Brent will present each program with an uplifting as well as thought provoking Biblical theme daily. Each broadcast will be one minute in duration, played 3 times a day, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7-8 am, 12-1 pm, and 4-5 pm. This program will be sponsored by the Fairgrounds Road church of Christ.

One Friday per month, we will be the sponsor of the KWOS weather reports, which airs 35 times during the day. They will mention our name and our website for people to look up.

The purpose of this outreach program is to try to stir the hearts of the listeners to seek the truth of Christ and we would be glad to help them in this. They will also become more familiar with us as we try to reach out to our lost community. We have set up an e-mail just for this program: momentoftruthjc@yahoo.com.

Be prayerful for this outreach. If you have any questions about the new program, please contact one of the elders or Brent.

Electronic Offering
We are now processing electronic offering for those who desire to do that. In this program, those giving do not have to write a check for their offering, the office can run a program which transfers the funds. The participant can place their contribution envelope in the regular offering marked "EFT" (electronic funds transfer). See Larry Kopfer or John Haynes if you are interested in using this program.

The elders want to inform you that we have a notary public in the congregation for anyone who has a reason to use this service. If anyone needs one in the future, please contact the office.

Weekly sermons on CD
If you get CD's made from the office, please be sure to pick them up, from the table in the foyer, as you leave each week.

Weekly sermons online
Many sermons are available on this site. Just click on the "Audio Sermons" button in the left hand navigation pane and you will find the sermons indexed by date. If multiple sermons are a part of a special topic series, they are also grouped separately according to series title. You can listen to them while on line, or you can download them to your computer for repeated use. These files are in MP3 format and can be easily transferred to a portable MP3 player for the convenience of taking them with you wherever you go.

Communion service
Communion service is available on Sundays for members of the church who are unable to attend the a.m. or p.m. worship services. If you wish to request this service, please contact Gilbert Rank.
